An important aspect of Waterman’s Community Center’s summer programming are its creative and fun summer camps for children on North Haven. There are three age levels and each engages children around the special aspects of an island summer in a unique, age-appropriate way. Camp staff need to be imaginative, responsible, and resourceful.

 Arts & Adventure Camp Leader

Summer 2022

Arts & Adventure Camp is an art and nature focused summer day camp offered to children on North Haven ages 6-9 years old. The camp encourages curiosity for the arts and sciences. Campers learn about the island through nature inspired art projects and outdoor excursions to ponds, beaches, farms, and forest trails. Weekly themes focus on visual and performing arts and Maine island nature.

The camp meets Monday – Friday 9am – 1pm from mid-June to the end of August. The daily schedule consists of an ongoing craft, art journaling, snack, discussion about the weekly theme and how it relates to the daily activities, and an outdoor excursion and lunch.

The Arts & Adventure leader is responsible to see that the 2022 Arts & Adventure camp is safe, fun, and successful for all involved.
